Trump Once Told a Biracial Girlfriend That Her Intelligence Came From the White Side of Her Family

Play Article AudioRead
Guys, you are never going to believe this. But Donald Trump said yet another racist thing…shocking, right?

In yet another stunning excerpt from Maggie Haberman’s book Confidence Man, we learn more about Trump’s relationship with Kara Young, a strikingly gorgeous model who happens to be biracial. It was Young who Trump was dating when he met his now-wife Melania, and Melania ended up giving Trump an ultimatum to break up with Young or else Melania would end the relationship. I think it’s fair to say Trump made the wrong choice.

In a excerpt from Rolling Stone, we learn of many disparaging remarks Trump made about non-white people throughout the years, including thinking a diverse group of Democratic congressional staffers were waiters at a White House reception in 2017.

In determining whether or not Trump is truly racist (LOL), Haberman delved into the the relationship between Trump and Young, whom Trump dated for two years in the late 1990s.

At one point, the book describes how Trump made a “joke” suggesting Young, whose mother is Black and whose father is white, inherited her looks from her mother and her intelligence “from her dad, the white side.”

Nice, huh?

While Trump laughed at his own joke, which was at a dinner when he was meeting Young’s parents for the first time, Young was unhappy with the comment and told him so. And yet, in a 2017 interview with The New York Times, Young said she didn’t think Trump was racist.

“I never heard him say a disparaging comment towards any race of people,” she said.

I have a feeling Michael Cohen and a non-disclosure agreement is behind that statement. Call me cynical, but come on.

However, Young did say that Trump had a tendency to believe racial stereotypes.

From Newsweek, “For example, Young described how Trump was surprised that there were Black people in the crowd at the U.S. Open, seemingly believing Black people do not watch tennis.

“We went to the U.S. Open once, and a lot of Black people came because it was Venus and Serena [Williams],” she said. “He was impressed that a lot of Black people came to the U.S. Open because they were playing.”

Young did speak out following the events at Charlottesville in 2017, and criticized Trump for his controversial remarks in which he said there were “very fine people” on “both sides” of the violent clashes.

“It’s horrifying what happened at the rally,” Young said. “I think it’s crazy, and I think it’s sad that this is where our country is.”

In the same New York Times interview where Young said she had never heard Trump say anything racist, she did say that while Trump didn’t have any close friends who were Black, he courted and sought out Black celebrities, which she took to be an indication that he was open-minded on the topic of race. Which, hello? Trump would court ANY celebrity. Black, brown, white, yellow, it doesn’t matter to Trump. Celebrity and what one can do for him is more important to Trump than race, but that doesn’t mean he’s not a racist. There are several examples of Trump’s racism, going back to when he was young and was sued for housing discrimination in the 1970s. When Black people would apply to live in Trump buildings in the 70s, they were told there were no vacancies, even when there were.

So yeah, maybe Kara Young has to grapple with her own reasons for dating Trump, or perhaps there’s an NDA behind what she has said about her former boyfriend. Still, the very fact he said he got her intelligence from her white father is RACIST. Period.
