SerMorpheus wants NFTs to be noticed all over Indonesia
ReadSoutheast Asia is a good place to sell new technologies because more than half of its people are under 30. Several countries in the region, like Singapore and Vietnam, have some of the highest crypto adoption rates in the world, which is not a big surprise.Indonesia isn’t the most crypto-active country in the region. According to Chainalysis, the country’s total crypto value received from July 2021 to June 2022 was less than half of Thailand’s. However, the country is thought to have a lot of potential for web3 adoption because it has a young, large (270 million), and growing web2 industry. One crypto investor says that Indonesia is “catching up” on web3 because most of its talented people are still working in the web2 field. On the other hand, entrepreneurs are working to bring blockchain applications to this group of islands with many different cultures. Pintu got $113 million in funding in June so it could help Indonesians trade cryptocurrencies. SerMorpheus is a new company that is now trying to use digital assets to connect brands and customers. To prove ownership, you can use a digital asset in the form of tokens that can’t be changed. NFTs can be used to show access to exclusive content, membership in an organization, or discounts on a deal, among other things.“Indonesians are big consumers of social media content. A lot of intellectual property is getting created, but creativity is underexposed when it comes to web3,” noted co-founder of SerMorpheus Kenneth Tali. “With so much money coming into crypto, why isn’t much [web3] creativity coming out of Indonesia?”He thinks that part of the problem is the technical loops that people who make smart contracts have to go through. They would have to contact multiple platforms and manage their relationships with each of them. People are already setting up a wallet, and they are worried about losing their private keys. So, SerMorpheus just finished a $2.5 million seed round to create an easy-to-use platform for businesses to create NFTs. On this platform, end users can buy and sell digital assets using the local currency, the rupiah. The service’s founder says that about 27,000 people have used it to get tickets to music shows, special fan perks from celebrities, memberships to football clubs, and other things. So far, 25 businesses and brands, including Indonesia Comic Con, have been added manually to the platform. The next step is to make SerMorpheus as easy to use as making a Facebook page. In order to do this, smart contracts, which are lines of code that run based on rules that have already been set, and the kinds of benefits that creators come up with for their end users will be standardized. The startup takes a 5–10% cut of any NFTs that are issued on its platform and a 2% cut of any NFTs that are sold later.500 Global, Febe Ventures, AlphaLab Capital, BRI Ventures, and Caballeros Capital joined Intudo Ventures in the seed round. SerMorpheus has 30 employees and plans to use the new money to build up its infrastructure and hire people in all areas.Latest NFT News, Trendings and Tutorials, right at your inbox, every Monday Leave this field empty if you're human:
