Expert on Kompromat Details How He Believes the KGB Entrapped Trump: ‘Dream Recruit, Low IQ, High Vanity’
Read*We are not presenting this thread as established fact. It is a linked set of allegations that appear serious but are not verified facts and do not prove with any certainty that Trump is or was a KGB asset. There are, however, many red flags that should be considered. With that caveat:During the Soviet Union days, the KGB was on a constant lookout for new recruits for any number of purposes. One of the primary means by which the Soviets laundered money into the United States was by cash purchases of real estate, which didn’t require the buyer’s identity to be exposed, nor – obviously, of the origins of the money. Once real property was paid for, the money was immediately and forever laundered (The laws have been strengthened). With respect to laundering money (knowingly or not), the Soviets only needed someone desperate enough, or someone who couldn’t care less about his country’s security, to get the job done.Donald Trump fit the profile like a dream candidate and the Soviets moved about as fast as Trump could build.Craig Unger wrote a book chronicling Trump’s purported history with the KGB. It makes some verified and some unverified assertions. The conclusions, however, read plausible enough that it should have sent alarm bells ringing early in our counter-intelligence community and likely did. What made Trump a dream candidate? Unger sets it out in one of his tweets from a highly recommended long tweet thread.8/Before going to Moscow, Shvets said, the KGB would have evaluated DT’s personality: “The guy is not a complicated cookie, his most important characteristics being low intellect coupled w/ hyperinflated vanity. This combination makes him a dream for an experienced recruiter.Sounds like our guy, and it must be acknowledged that the KGB was one of the two most effective intelligence agencies on Earth at the time. Additionally, unlike their American counterparts, the KGB was a little less restricted by domestic law.On to Unger’s account, as always, read top to bottom:2/In 1980, as I wrote in American Kompromat, Trump bought 100s of TVs for the Grand Hyatt Hotel. Yuri Shvets, a fmr major in the KGB, told me that the man who sold the TVs, Semion Kislin, was a “spotter agent” for the KGB—i.e. someone seeking new assets and agents to cultivate. — Craig Unger (@craigunger) August 31, 20224/In 1986, Trump met with Natalia Dubinina and her father, Yuri Dubinin. According to Shvets, Dubinina worked in the UN Library, a major spy nest for the KGB. That was her cover, Shvets told me, but she was secretly working in the KGB’s First Directorate. — Craig Unger (@craigunger) August 31, 20226/ Next, according to Shvets, KGB General Ivan Gromakov in the KGB’s First Chief Directorate’s rezidentura in Washington, oversaw Trump’s invitation to Moscow. — Craig Unger (@craigunger) August 31, 20228/Before going to Moscow, Shvets said, the KGB would have evaluated DT’s personality: “The guy is not a complicated cookie, his most important characteristics being low intellect coupled w/ hyperinflated vanity. This combination makes him a dream for an experienced recruiter.” — Craig Unger (@craigunger) August 31, 202210/ According to Shvets, Trump was not an agent but a special kind of asset known as “a trusted contact.” “Trusted contacts are not recruited,” Shvets told me. “Relations with them are cultivated over time. You just build relations over time with them.” — Craig Unger (@craigunger) August 31, 202212/ A few weeks later, in September 1987, Yuri Shvets was in his KGB office when a cable came across his desk touting a successful new “active measure” by a new KGB asset. Attached was a full-page ad in the NYT voicing various KGB talking points. It was signed by Donald Trump. — Craig Unger (@craigunger) August 31, 202213/ The day after the ad appeared, the NYT suggested that Trump might enter the 1988 Republican primaries against GHW Bush. According to Shvets, the KGB had likely suggested to Trump that he run for president, and Trump went so far as to set up a fall appearance in New Hampshire. — Craig Unger (@craigunger) August 31, 202215/ When he ran for president in 2016, Trump’s foreign policy presentation was handled by Dmitri Simes. Shvets had sought to recruit Simes for KGB, but a superior told him not to bother because Simes was already a contact of the KGB. — Craig Unger (@craigunger) August 31, 202217/ During the 2016 Republican National Convention, Trump foreign policy adviser J. D. Gordon plays key role in rewriting—and weakening—the Ukraine plank in the Republican platform. — Craig Unger (@craigunger) August 31, 2022The above is what set my alarm bells off at the time.19/So when one sees the mountains of classified documents stolen by Trump how is it possible to think this is not part of a spectacularly serious breach in national security? — Craig Unger (@craigunger) August 31, 2022None of this has been proven in a court of law nor reported as fact in a reputable news organization with strict controls regarding allegations. Some of the above can be proven through documents available to the public through business transactions. Some of it is public knowledge. The conclusion cannot be verified until set out with evidence. We want to be very careful as to how this is presented. It is not “the New York Times” with double-blind verification. It represents one man’s findings, and he has a motive to be sensationalist. Much of it rings true, though.****jmiciak@yahoo.com, @JasonMiciak, with Nicole HickmanThe post Expert on Kompromat Details How He Believes the KGB Entrapped Trump: ‘Dream Recruit, Low IQ, High Vanity’ appeared first on Political Flare.Source link
